Reminders remain in your Google Calendar until the task is accomplished.

Google calendar notifications:
These are desktop pop-ups that alert you about upcoming meetings that are scheduled in your Google calendar.
Events and their corresponding notifications are deleted irrespective of whether the event was attended or not.
Google calendar notifications do get migrated.
