How do I check alias addresses on Exchange 2003 for invalid characters?
Use the VB script that discovers all mail and mailbox objects within the domain and verifies that the alias contains valid characters. If they do not contain valid characters, it will log it to the file.
- Launch the command prompt (cmd.exe).
- Download the following script: Check-Exchange2003AliasValidity.vbs.
- Run the script on a computer that is joined to the domain for which you wish to update the user accounts.
When the script is done executing, you will see a confirmation dialog. A file will be created within the same directory called "Check-Exchange2003AliasValidity.txt" which contains all objects that contain an alias with invalid characters.
