Why am I getting the error: "Unable to connect to remote server" when the Source is IMAP system?
When migrating from certain IMAP providers, connections can be blocked and return the following error:
BitTitan.Migration.MigrationFatalSavedException: The request failed. Unable to connect to the remote server ---> Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ServiceRequestException: The request failed. Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.WebException: Unable to connect to the remote server ---> System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
The reason for this is that BitTitan dynamically spins up virtual machines, using both Azure and AWS, to accommodate additional migration requests when its pool of migration servers nears capacity.
However, certain IMAP providers block connections from Azure. All, however, accept connections from AWS.
If you receive this error, add the following project Advanced Option, under Support/Support Options: ProcessingRequirement=OnDemand
This will force the migration to use AWS servers.
