What endpoint type is needed when migrating from GoDaddy Office 365?

    I do not see Office 365 under GoDaddy as a source option.  Should we just choose the Microsoft Offcie 365 option?

    Hi Tim Roberge,

    You are correct. Use the "Office 365" endpoint to migrate from GoDaddy Office 365.

    Did anybody had any success migrating from Godaddy Office 365 tenant to your own Office 365 tenant with the same domain name. Godaddy doesn't let you delete vanilla domain name without deleting tenant completely. So this article doesn't apply https://help.bittitan.com/hc/en-us/articles/115008106827-Office-365-to-Office-365-Migration-Guide-While-Keeping-the-Same-Domain-Name

    I was thinking to do complete e-mail migration then close down email services with godaddy and then add email domain to Office 365

    I followed this article

    Few keynotes

    Don't forget to create a separate Global Admin account with *.ondemand prefix in the godaddy source

    You will need to delete proxy names with the old domain name in the source e-mail accounts

    After domain is added you will need to run same script that you ran in source on the destination domain

    $UserCredential = Get-Credential
          Connect-MsolService -Credential $UserCredential
          $Session = New-PSSession -ConfigurationName Microsoft.Exchange -ConnectionUri https://outlook.office365.com/powershell-liveid/ -Credential $UserCredential -Authentication Basic -AllowRedirection
          Import-PSSession $Session -AllowClobber
          $testpath = test-path c:\temp; If ($testpath -eq $false) {new-item -type directory c:\temp}; $dataout = @();
          Get-MsolUser -All | ? {$_.UserPrincipalName -match "change this to the destination onmicrosoft domain" -and $_.UserPrincipalName -notmatch "admin"} | % {Set-MsolUserPrincipalName -ObjectId $_.objectId -NewUserPrincipalName ($_.UserPrincipalName.Split(“@”)[0] + “@change this to the domain that you want to use”); $dataout += "$($_.UserPrincipalName)" ; $_.UserPrincipalName };$dataout | out-file c:\temp\UPNChangeOutput.txt

    Hi Mike Drugov,

    I've submitted your inquiry to one of our technical SMEs. I'll let you know how you should proceed. I think you've provided some additional information about how to perform the migration... I will also submit that additional information to them. Thank you!
