  • Almost every domain user I have ever seen logs in with domain.local... rarely do I see them using the same domain as their email address.

Cannot find this "Run Module" option anywhere... is this guide dated?

Is the first line in the answer correct? You 'can' use your UPN to log in but doesn't AD use the SamAccountName in almost all cases?

    Hey Adam,

The main thing to take away from this KB is you must use the email that the users can log in with.  If they can't log in with that email we will not be able to create a profile with the email.

    Thanks

    Hello,

When using DeploymentPro matching the UPN to the SMTP address is critical because the UPN is what DeploymentPro will use to match the profile. Below I have linked to a document that can show you how to update the UPN in the DeploymentPro project so your user(s) will not run into any issues when cutting over.

    Take care.

The article you point to is when the UPN domain is different to the SMTP domain. Ours are not different. What is different is the left of the@ , see below.

Will that be an issue. When deployment pro runs and asks for email credentials for instance do i then put in the actually UPN or the email address. thanks

    UPN: johnd@contoso.com.

    SMTP: john.doe@contoso.com

    Hello,

Sorry for my misunderstanding. There will be a matching issue if the prefix is different than what exists on the destination. There is a way to update this information in the project involving a CSV bulk edit process. I have linked the document below that can show you how to download and ingest this CSV. Essentially, you will want to match the Primary Email Address to what was returned into the DeploymentPro project and then update the Destination Email Address to the users UPN on the destination. That tells DeploymentPro to map john.doe@contoso.com to johnd@contoso.com or vice versa. I would encourage you to test this out with one or two users first, and if you have any questions about implementation, contact our support team as they would be able to guide you through the entire process.
