Will duplicates be created if I previously migrated items using another migration solution?
Suppose that you already migrated items from a Source mailbox to a Destination mailbox using a third-party solution (i.e., a migration solution other than MigrationWiz). If you later use MigrationWiz to migrate data, you may end up with duplicates.
We can only prevent creation of duplicates for items that we create. MigratonWiz automatically identifies items that it has already migrated, to avoid creating duplicates when performing Delta passes. However, MigrationWiz cannot identify items that were migrated by a third-party solution.
Here are some possible remedies:
- Reset or recreate the Destination mailbox so that it is empty.
- Manually identify and remove items that were migrated by the third-party solution.
- Specify a date range on your connector in order to avoid any time overlap with items already migrated to the Destination.
