View, Add, and Edit Customer Resources

On the Resources page, you can view the servers and other devices that the Device Management Agent (DMA) Gateway discovered from the customer’s Active Directory.

View Customer Resources

The customer’s resources, such as servers and other devices, are displayed and managed on the Resources page.

Complete these steps to view your customer resources:

  1. Select the appropriate workgroup, and then click All Customers in the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the name of a customer for which you want to view computers.
  3. Click the Resources tab.

These details are displayed for each resource:

  Details Description
1 Name The name of the resource.
2 Type The resource type.
3 Added The date the resource was added, either by the gateway or manually.

You can perform these actions on the Resources page:

Action Description
Add resource Click Add Resource to manually add a new resource for the customer.

View resource details Click a resource name to view detailed information for that resource.
For more information: Read the View resource details topic.
Sort Click Sort to reorder the list by name.
Search Use the search field to find services with a specific keyword.

View Resource Details

Customer’s resources are displayed and managed on the customer’s Resources page.

Complete these steps to view resource details:

  1. Select the appropriate workgroup, and then click All Customers in the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the name of a customer for which you want to view computers.
  3. Click the Resources tab.
  4. Click a resource name to view detailed information for that resource.
  5. The details listed below are displayed for each resource:
Detail Description
Device name The name of the resource.
Location The domain location of the resource.
Operating System The operating system installed on the resource.
Associated Gateways The DMA Gateway captured the resource.
Associated Feed The feed alerts for the resource.
Click the ellipsis next to alerts to view more alerts or to refresh the displayed alerts.

Add Resources

You can manually add resources for a customer.

Important

You can also add resources using DMA Gateway. Read the Add Gateways topic for more information.

Complete these steps to add resources:

  1. Select the appropriate workgroup, and click All Customers in the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the name of a customer for which you want to view computers.
  3. Click the Resources tab.
  4. Click Add resource.
  5. Enter this information into the add resource form.
    Field Description
    Resource Type Choose a type for the resource.
    Associated Gateways Choose a gateway to associate the resource to a configured gateway.
    Resource Name Enter a name for the resource.
    Resource Location Enter a server name, fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or IP address for the resource.
  6. Click Save.

Edit Resource Details

You can edit resource details on the Resources page.

Complete these steps to edit resource details:

  1. Select the appropriate workgroup, and click All Customers in the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the name of a customer for which you want to view computers.
  3. Click the Resources tab.
  4. Click the ellipsis next to a resource and select Edit.
  5. Enter this information into the resource details form.
    Field Description
    Resource Type Choose a type for the resource.
    Associated Gateways Choose a gateway to associate the resource to a configured gateway.
    Resource Name Enter a name for the resource.
    Resource Location Enter a server name, fully qualified domain name (FQDN), or IP address for the resource.
  6. Click Save.

Delete Resources

You can delete resources that no longer need to be tracked.

Complete these steps to delete a resource:

  1. Select the appropriate workgroup, and click All Customers in the left navigation pane.
  2. Click the name of a customer for which you want to view computers.
  3. Click the Resources tab.
  4. Click the ellipsis next to a resource and select Delete.
  5. Click Delete the resource when prompted to confirm the action.
